Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) is a grain native to the Andes, therefore growing conditions are the best in the highland regions of Bolivia, where the cultivated area has grown substantially.
The origin of quinoa dates back more than 5,000 years and it was the main food of our ancestors. The most important places for real quinoa production in Bolivia are in Oruro and around Salar de Uyuni in Potosí located at 3600 m. above sea level.
